For without knowledge of our history, there can be no progress. Humankind must learn from its past glories as well as its mistakes, and forge a new narrative for a greater era.\\ >Join us in rejecting an oncoming dark age of ignorance and regression.\\ >Join us, for posterity and prosperity. Forever and always.\\ //Excerpt from a speech by Mr Cartwright, the founder of SPRHD, in 1953. Given at the opening of the first non-American SPRHD office in Ottawa, Canada. The phrase 'for posterity and prosperity' subsequently became SPRHD's motto.// ---- The Society for the Preservation and Recovery of Historical Documentation (SPRHD, pronounced 'Spearhead') is a **company and archive** that works to ensure the preservation of information. =====Purpose===== To obtain dependable research on behalf of SPRHD's many international clients. =====History===== SPRHD was born in the dreams of a disillusioned entrepreneur. In the late 1940s, haunted by the atrocities and depravity of World War Two, SPRHD founder Mr Cartwright had a vision. He began to see history as a story told through records and research, which, if tended to diligently, could shape the trajectory of the future---with SPRHD as its custodians.\\ SPRHD soon expanded beyond America, developing into an international company with physical archives, offices, and digital server farms across the world. SPRHD's clients---which included governments, universities, and corporations---soon became increasingly dependent on their services.\\ SPRHD is now thriving in the age of the internet, with its tiered subscriptions, paywalls, and collected data helping to fashion a new global order. For decades, it has archived all manner of material, from artefacts to newspapers, films and books, and everything else besides.\\ SPRHD will continue to archive all that it can, until its founder's vision of the future is forged.\\ =====Faction Politics===== >SPRHD prides itself on its apolitical stance to facilitate progress, manifesting in multiple alliances with major world powers. Our resources are often the catalyst for visionary breakthroughs that bring us ever closer to our founder's vision of the future.\\ >SPRHD is proud partners with military organisations [[ANCOM]] and [[GRAIL]]---military server solutions and tailor-made SPRHD integration with national systems are just one of our many specialties.\\ >SPRHD is a firmly international organisation, and thus welcome inquiries from any country or institution, regardless of political or national allegiances.\\ //Extract from this recovered page accurate as of 16th June 2010. Multiple organisations were removed from the page after they cancelled their SPRHD subscriptions.// =====Members===== > SPRHD welcomes every discipline into its ranks, from archivists to scientists, early career academics, and journalists. Join us, and help us to shape the future! //Recovered from the SPRHD official website, from the page labelled 'Why work for us?'// Arguably, SPRHD is the most influential and alluring private academic enterprise globally. As such, it has garnered one of the largest departments of historians and researchers in the world.\\ SPRHD also relies on its in-house task force of technicians to maintain their vast internal digital network. This enables SPRHD to update its records near-instantaneously across its myriad servers.\\ Administration is equally crucial to SPRHD, considering its continual daily acquisitions and countless file uploads across the world. SPRHD's clients expect the company to always be operating smoothly---for without SPRHD, many would struggle to function properly.\\ =====NPCs===== ^ NPC ^ Pronouns ^ Description ^ Physrep ^ | Edith Luna Bulosan | she/they| Senior Documentarian at the SPRHD main archives.
